We are happy to offer sitting services at the shelter.  Your critters will enjoy daily playtime in our main ferret room during their stay.

Sitting Fees: $5 per day for one ferret + $1 per day for each additional

We do sometimes run into trouble with the number of boarding requests over the holidays, so we do require at least two weeks notice before any holiday boarding stay.  

Last minute holiday boarding surcharge: booked within a month of a holiday $25, booked within two weeks of a holiday $50.   

You'll need to bring is proof of current (within the past year) vaccination for both rabies and distemper, a supply of your ferret's food, any necessary medications, and any "can't-live-without" toys or treats. Any special needs, such as medicine or special feedings, will be provided as you instruct.

Remember that boarding can be stressful for your ferret, especially if they've never visited our Shelter or been left without you before.  We always recommend folks visit the Shelter before any boarding arrangement, especially if your ferret is older, infirm, or lives as an only ferret.

Motor City Ferrets is an active shelter, which means at any time contagion (virus, parasite, distemper, vermin such as fleas and ticks, etc.) could walk through our door. We keep boarders separate from others, but everyone stays in our main ferret room, so we do worry over contagions.  If your ferret is older/infirm or can't receive further vaccinations due to past allergic reactions, we'll discuss before their stay.
